Samantha Gash speaking on stage

Keynote Speaker

The landscapes are extraordinary. The leadership lessons are universal.

Samantha Gash speaks at the intersection of endurance, identity and human performance. Her work is not about adventure for its own sake, but about what pressure reveals: how people build trust, adapt under uncertainty, rewrite limiting narratives and sustain performance without losing themselves or each other.

Across every keynote is one central question: how do people remain capable, adaptable and deeply human when pressure becomes the baseline rather than the exception?

Samantha's Speaking Expertise

Sustaining Human Performance

And the capacity to innovate

While the future is still taking shape.

The future is not mapped. Capacity is built in layers.

Every organisation is being asked to do two things at once: deliver today's work at full intensity, while reshaping how it operates for a future that hasn't settled yet.

Samantha's work examines what allows people to sustain that, not as a single skill, but as layers that build on each other: a protected baseline, a rebuilt set of beliefs, a working direction, and a team capable of carrying the load together.

01

Personal Baseline

Protecting energy, health, identity, relationships and recovery, the ground everything else is built on.

02

Belief

Identifying the invisible rules mistaken for facts, and building new evidence through action.

03

Blueprint

Setting direction with no established map, and revising it as reality changes.

04

Collective

Bringing together the right people, aligning strengths, sharing pressure, and building trust and culture.

Keynote Entry Points

Each keynote applies this connected human performance framework to a specific challenge facing people, leaders and organisations.

Areas of Exploration

Five themes. One body of work.

Every organisation is facing a different set of pressures, but the human capabilities required to meet them keep showing up in the same place: tested at altitude, in the desert, under conditions no strategy deck accounts for. These five themes are drawn from two decades operating where the plan runs out, translated for the moment your business is in right now.

Together, the five themes examine the full human system of performance: how we think, adapt, sustain effort, revise identity and build cultures capable of carrying pressure together.

01

AI + Human Performance

The Human Edge

As AI reshapes the way we work, competitive advantage is shifting from what people know to how they think, connect and lead.

This focus supports teams experiencing AI transformation, future-of-work change and rapid innovation cycles.

Samantha has stood in remote deserts with no signal and no way to call for help, when the only thing left to trust was her own judgement. That is the same reckoning AI is now creating inside your business.

  • Judgement matters more than information once execution is automated
  • Congruence is the currency of trust
  • Human performance is relational, not just technical

Audience takeaway

Audiences leave with a clearer understanding of the human capabilities that increase in value as execution becomes automated: judgement, discernment, trust, congruence and real connection.

Leading Through Change & Uncertainty

Brave Adaptation

Signature Framework · The Next Best Plan

The goal isn't to return to normal. There is no normal to return to.

This focus supports teams going through transformation, restructures, strategy resets and sustained uncertainty.

Samantha has led teams through bushfires, earthquakes and landslides, where the route disappeared mid-expedition and the plan became irrelevant by lunch.

  • Pressure is the baseline, not the exception
  • Reality-contact beats narrative when conditions shift
  • Courage means acting without guarantees

Audience takeaway

Audiences learn how to identify when the existing plan has stopped serving them, distinguish discomfort from danger and move towards the next responsible action without waiting for certainty.

03

Sustainable Performance

The Long Game

Signature Framework · The Power of the Pause

Performance isn't built by asking people to give more. It's built by creating the conditions that allow them to keep going.

This focus supports teams experiencing high pressure, executive load, burnout risk and the push for sustainable growth.

Samantha has run further in a week than most people run in a year, and has only done it four times over by refusing to treat recovery as optional.

  • Sustainable performance must be repeatable
  • Pace is a leadership decision, not a personal failing
  • Recovery is strategic, not indulgent

Audience takeaway

Audiences leave with a practical model for pacing ambition, protecting recovery and building performance that can be repeated rather than merely survived.

04

Identity, Reinvention & Growth

Begin Again

Every meaningful transition asks the same question: who do you become when the person who got you here isn't enough for what's next?

This focus supports teams going through leadership transitions, career change and organisational reinvention, including women's leadership programs.

Samantha walked away from a law career to start again with no map and no guarantee it would work, and she's done it repeatedly since, with no blueprint. Reinvention isn't her default setting: she grew up as the kid not picked in the school yard, and avoided situations unless she was certain of the goal and the pathway. What changed is exactly what this keynote teaches: reinvention is a capability that's built, not a trait some people are simply born with.

  • Potential is built, not discovered
  • Identity is the mechanism of change, not the obstacle to it
  • Action creates evidence before confidence arrives

Audience takeaway

Audiences learn how to identify the rules they have mistaken for facts, build evidence before confidence arrives and approach transition as an active process of identity revision.

05

Trust, Belonging & Team Performance

Cultures That Endure

Strong cultures are not built through values statements. They are built through everyday behaviours that create trust, belonging and shared responsibility.

This focus supports teams working on culture, psychological safety, trust and cross-functional alignment.

When a team's next decision could mean altitude sickness, dehydration or someone not making it home, trust stops being a value on a wall and becomes the only thing holding the group together.

  • Collective capacity beats individual talent
  • Trust is behavioural, built in everyday moments, not declared
  • Clarity reduces resentment before it starts

Audience takeaway

Leaders leave with a clearer view of how trust is built through congruence, clarity, shared load and everyday behaviour, especially before conditions become difficult.

The Lived Authority

The woman who has repeatedly started again, and built something from nothing when the land underneath was unsteady.

A former corporate lawyer turned professional adventurer, Samantha was the first woman and youngest person to complete the 4 Deserts Grand Slam: 1,000km across four of the world's harshest deserts in a single calendar year. She has since run 3,800km across India in 77 days, traversed Nepal's Great Himalaya Trail over 50 days, and led teams through bushfires, earthquakes and landslides in conditions that couldn't be predicted or controlled.

She runs for purpose. Her Relief Run raised $1.2 million in 12 days for disaster relief and education in partnership with World Vision, where she has been a Goodwill Ambassador for more than a decade. She is the founder of Her Trails and a long-standing AIA Vitality Ambassador.
